Tom Hardy is blessedly minus his Bane mask from “The Dark Knight Rises” in his latest movie, “Locke.” The broodingly powerful actor plays Ivan Locke, whose satisfying life of career and family stability is about to be threatened by the pulling of a metaphorical thread.
The film, which unfolds during a car ride, is directed by Steven Knight, screenwriter of the engrossing “Eastern Promises” with Viggo Mortensen and “Dirty Pretty Things” with Chiwetel Ejiofor. You can see “Locke” before its scheduled May 9 release and watch a video discussion with Knight led by Rolling Stone film critic Peter Travers, thanks to the New York Film Critics Series. “Locke” screens at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Bloomfield Township’s Maple Theater and 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Ann Arbor’s Michigan Theater. Lock it down on your entertainment schedule
