Real Madrid’s Xabi Alonso to MISS Champions League Final

XLos Blancos’ pass-master Xabi Alonso, upon
picking up a booking during Real Madrid’s 3-0
glorious victory over Bayern Munich at the Allianz
Arena, will miss the final match of the
competition. The Spaniard, along with fellow
Spanish international Sergio Ramos, entered the
match each a booking away from being suspended
for the next match with the midfielder unlucky to
enter the referee’s book even before the first half
was over.
Even though manager Carlo Ancelotti had insisted
that his club was not concerned about the duo
potentially missing the final, it remains to be seen
how they will cope without the key midfield man.
Ancelotti: “We are not worried about Xabi and
Ramos”:
“They’re very professional. They’ll play as they
normally play,” the gaffer had said .
“We have to put in a huge effort; we need everyone
to work to get to the final.”
“We need to work with players who don’t have
problems.”
His teammate Sergio Ramos, on the other hand,
completed his 90 minutes without a mishap and
scored two goals in the space of four minutes to
give Real a sensational 2-0 lead by the 20th
minute. The defender will feature in the 2013/14
UEFA Champions League final.
