Uh-ohs. Rihanna is being sued by her Irish former bodyguard, Geoffrey Keating, for defamation.
He’s filed a lawsuit today over claims that RiRi made “nauseatingly offensive” and false comments about him in an email to him and his partner, and in a phone call, too.
The supposed comments were not repeated in an open court. Wonder what they were… but that’s sort of the point of a defamation case – taking people DOWN who have said stuff that’s not true. So we don’t know.
And we don’t know if Rihanna actually did say naughty, mean things about Geoffrey or not – yet – but the alleged comments have been said to have injured his business and reputation.
Geoffrey worked for Rihanna between October 2012 and July 2013. His lawyer told TMZ: “We’re taking this battle very seriously. We are satisfied that the Irish courts will see justice at the end of the day.”
Hmm, we wonder what will happen. Remember when Rihanna visited the Emerald Isle and got told off by a farmer just outside Belfast for running around in a field with her top off whilst filming the video for We Found Love? Naughty Rihanna!
Whether there’s any truth to this new court case remains to be seen, but we’ll find out, won’t we?
