SERGIO AGUERO’S dramatic last-minute winner grabbed Manchester City the title in 2012, but there were none of those heroics this time around as Manuel Pellegrini’s men made sure they got the job done early doors.

West Ham came to spoil the party and barely left their own half as they battled to get something out of the game. And it worked for a while as City fans watched on nervously for the first 40 minutes until Samir Nasri sent the Etihad into raptures with the opener.
And with Liverpool losing at home to Newcastle at the time, the relief was overpowering as City fans knew they were well on course for their second Premier League title.
While Liverpool turned it around at Anfield, City were coasting to glory as Vincent Kompany smashed home from close range to make it a cake walk.
Liverpool fans were praying for a miracle at the Etihad and a favour from old-boy Andy Carroll but in truth West Ham never threatened to spoil the party.
While the drama of 2012 will live long in the memory, City fans relish this victory for very different reasons. The collapse of Brendan Rodgers’ Liverpool certainly helped, but this time around when it really mattered the Blues got the job done early and conclusively.
