The 39-year-old actress, who recently married Brad Pitt, will direct and produce a film about poaching in Africa.
The screenplay has been written by Eric Roth, well known for the Tom Hanks drama Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close as well as his work on television shows Luck and House of Cards.
The film will reportedly tell the story of paleo-archaeologist Richard Leakey, who made it his mission to protect elephants throughout the 1980’s and 90’s whilst working as the head of Kenya’s Wildlife Conservation and Management Department.
This will be Jolie’s forth film as director, following 2011’s In the Land of Blood and Honey, Unbroken (due for release later this year) and By the Sea, which has a 2015 release date.
