Midweek update: Meghan Trainor and Nicki Minaj are fighting it out for no.1

Meghan Trainor looks set to spend a second week at the top of the UK Singles Chart with ‘All About That Bass’ despite some serpentine competition from Nicki Minaj.
Meghan is 6,000 copies ahead of ‘Anaconda’ in the midweek update, so Nicki will have a difficult job catching up through the next few days. It’s not all bad news for Nicki, though, because she’s the highest new entry at number two and she’s at number three with Jessie J and Ariana Grande. She’s also at number 11 on Usher’s ‘I Came to Give it to You’.
Jeremih is at four with his ‘Rhythm is a Dancer’ sampling ‘Don’t Tell ‘Em’ and Ella Henderson’s at five with her follow-up to ‘Ghost’, ‘Glow’.
Taylor Swift’s ‘Shake it Off’ is at six ahead of Marvin Humes’ Luvbug project, which is at seven with ‘Resonance’.
Calvin Harris and John Newman are at eight with ‘Blame’, while Sigma and Paloma Faith are at nine with ‘Changing’. George Ezra completes the top 10 with ‘Blame it on Me’.
