European heavyweights Manchester United and Real Madrid are believed to have made an offer for Norwegian teenager Martin Odegaard, according to reports from Sky Sports journalist Pete O’Rourke.
The 15-year-old has attracted admiring glances from a number of prestigious clubs across the continent but now seems destined to join either of the previously mentioned pair, as both sides have made their interest in his signature concrete.
Odegaard is a record-breaker, having become the youngest ever footballer to play in a European qualifier.
Meanwhile, the teenager has been warned by several figures in the game not to rush into a decision regarding his future as it is crucial his development is carefully monitored as given his tender years it may be several seasons before he can become a first team regular.
The biggest clubs in Europe often manage to secure the signature of highly-rated players ahead of smaller sides, but, with a vast amount of talent within their ranks, some fall by the wayside and fail the make the grade.
Although Odegaard’s potential is huge, he will need to approach the next step of his career with caution if he is to avoid the pitfalls that can prove to be detrimental in a youngster’s career.
The choice between Old Trafford and The Bernabeu is an enviable, but difficult choice to make.
