Our man Kristian Walsh takes a look at what the national newspapers say as the Reds head for the Bernabeu
The Spanish press’ only real interest in Liverpool FC’s visit to Real Madrid is whether Cristiano Ronaldo will become the all-time leading goalscorer in the Champions League.
Both AS and Marca focus on Ronaldo’s tally of 70 goals – which puts him just one behind Raul’s record.
Inside AS, it declares Ronaldo is aiming for both Liverpool and the record. They also focus on Carlo Ancelotti’s bid to make it 15 straight wins – a record – with the Italian on 11
On the back page, the newspaper has given space to Danielle Lloyd in a low cut Liverpool shirt. As you do.
Marca, meanwhile, call Raul and Ronaldo the magnificent 7s and show the transformation of Raul into Ronaldo.
There is also space for the paper to profile Raheem Sterling, who is hailed as the final part of Rafael Benitez’s legacy.
Both newspapers believe Real will make one change, with Sergio Ramos replacing Pepe.
