According to reports, Manchester United are preparing a big money move for Bayern Munich’s World Cup winner Mario Gotze in January.
Allegedly, Man United are ready to pay £50million for the 22-year-old despite him only moving to Bayern Munich last season from Borussia Dortmund.
The 22-year-old has scored 17 times in 39 games for Pep Guardiola’s side since moving and has netted seven times this season, but Man United have armed Louis van Gaal with a £100m war chest to improve the squad with Gotze the main target.
With his ability to play in midfield, on the win and up-front, Van Gaal will like the versatility of the German and will be hoping he can twist the arm of one of his former players at Barcelona to sign him.
However, with Gotze featuring regularly for Guardiola at Bayern it is very unlikely that Man United will be able to persuade him to sell even if the offer is ridiculous.
