The two A-list stars come from different ends of the showbiz spectrum; David is one of football’s most famous names, while Harvey is an Oscar-nominated actor.

Their paths crossed for the new Belstaff campaign, where they star opposite each other in a short film showing off the brand’s luxury leather jackets.

“I was waiting in the trailer to do the first scene and a bunch of lilies arrived for me. I was like, ‘OK, I don’t often get given flowers.’ There was a note on it from Harvey saying, ‘It takes a man to give another man flowers,'” David revealed to Britain’s Metro newspaper.

Along with the Belstaff short film, called Outlaws, 40-year-old David had a highly publicised cameo in Guy Ritchie’s flick The Man From U.N.C.L.E, and will also crop up in his new movie Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur.

However, those who are hoping David will become a regular fixture in Hollywood should prepare to be disappointed.

“[Film] is not something I am looking to go into. To be honest I’ve only done it as a bit of fun for the campaign. This is not me launching a new career,” David explained.

A Hollywood career may not be on the cards, but wife Victoria has been more than impressed with David’s acting chops.

“Obviously, she is very biased,” he grinned.

Maybe one of the reasons David won’t be following that path is because movie heavyweight Harvey intimidated him too much.

“My first scene was Harvey grabbing at me shouting at me, so that was very nerve-wracking,” he confessed.

“I am a circus daredevil and I come in to rescue the damsel in distress, which I think I do pretty well.”
