Roberto Di Matteo spoke about wanting to make additions to his squad after watching his side lose 3-1 to League Two Luton Town on Wednesday evening, and according to James Nursey of The Mirror, he has identified Crystal Palace midfielder Mile Jedinak as a player who he wants to bring to Villa Park.

The 32-year-old would certainly provide some much-needed experience to Villa’s squad, and Palace are apparently open to offers for him after Alan Pardew took away the club captaincy from him.

The Australian international’s place in the Palace side is anything but assured, so he might well fancy a move to the Midlands as he’d likely be a regular starter for a Villa side who will be looking for promotion at the first time of asking.

In a recent interview, the midfielder admitted that he was shocked when he was told that Scott Dann was taking his place as Palace captain, but insisted that he wasn’t looking for a move away from Selhurst Park.
